Here’s a new study that really emphasizes the need to make sure your vitamin D levels are optimized before going in the hospital for any type of surgery. The study showed that the group of patients That had sub optimal vitamin D levels had a much higher rate of infection and death rates from all causes of hospitalization were increased in this lower vitamin D level group.
